This role will be responsible for running one or more operational pieces of equipment, which includes coating line and slitter area, loading and unloading rolls, maintaining a supply of hot melts to the coating head, and proper monitoring of process parameters.
How you'll help the formula:
- Upholds company safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Contributes to meeting KPIs by focusing efforts to achieve targets.
- Responsible to setup, operate, monitor and adjust machine for quality production, and perform routine machine maintenance.
- Responsible for meeting production standards.
- Able to run all hosts on the machine.
- Reads and interprets work orders to understand the requirements of the project.
- Operates coating equipment under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor/Lead Coater following SOPs.
- Works with other team members to conduct rapid changeovers on the coating lines.
- Completes production paperwork and data entry into SAP in an accurate and timely manner.
- Understands product quality to allow for effective visual inspection of semi-finished or finished product as it comes off the line.
- Notifies Shift Supervisor/Lead Coater of any product quality or mechanical issues.
- Performs operator maintenance/preventive maintenance as defined by the Maintenance Department and SOPs.
- Performs daily safety and equipment checks.
- Performs ongoing quality inspections, reporting any non-conforming product to the Shift Supervisor/Lead Coater.
- Displays proper use of hand tools and small power tools, pallet jack, fork truck and drum handling equipment.
- Works collaboratively with coworkers across all functions, particularly with lead coater operator, shift supervisor, and packer for the tasks required for the shift based on coating schedule.
- Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition by sweeping, trash removal, and returning equipment & tools to proper storage location when not in use. Maintain clear paths to aisles, fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations and emergency exits.
- Follows and gives written and oral instructions/communication, and work without close supervision.
- Trains new employees as instructed.
- Helps with inventory count as needed.
- Works overtime, including Saturdays and/or Sundays as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in the variety of conditions present in a manufacturing setting including exposure to moving mechanical parts, odors, fumes, and airborne particles; as well as extreme heat and humidity. The noise level in the plant can be loud in some parts of the plant.
Physical Demands:

- Regularly (continuously) required to communicate (see/hear/speak); stand and walk; reach at waist level with hands and arms and firmly grasp items with hands.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on a repetitive basis without mechanical assistance; push and pull up to 420 lbs. with mechanical assistance; reach over head with hands and arms; use hands for simple grasp & fine manipulation and climb ladders.
- Occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb stairs; lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance; reach below waist level with hands and arms.

Key elements for your role:
- High school diploma or equivalent with basic math, written and oral communication skills.
- Mechanical skills or aptitude.
- Previous machine operating experience preferred.
- Ability to use calculator, computer and measuring tools.
- Knowledge of the metric system preferred.
- Capable of earning and maintaining a forklift license.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with others.
- Hours: Any as required, including overtime on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Must be able to work within the framework of 6S, ISO and IATF requirements.
