LabChemS Corp. (LCC) is a leading provider of consulting services, laboratories, and support resources for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries in Puerto Rico. We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong, hands-on CNC experience to join our team in Ponce. This is a role for someone who lives and breathes CNC setup, programming, operation, and optimization and who can also support the validation of the equipment they work with.
What you'll do
- Operate, set up, and program CNC equipment, ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality across manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and optimize CNC machinery to keep production running smoothly and to spec.
- Plan, execute, and document validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) for manufacturing equipment in accordance with internal procedures and industry regulations.
- Evaluate quality issues and/or deviations reported during protocol execution.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement validation procedures and best practices, and review/implement changes to SOPs.
- Coordinate plant activities related to Validation Engineering, ensuring they are completed on time, efficiently, and in full compliance with plant procedures and regulatory agencies.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on CNC experience is a must (setup, programming, and operation).
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) and manufacturing processes within the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of GMP, GDP, and applicable FDA/ISO regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with risk assessment tools (FMEA, HACCP) and equipment calibration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear, professional communication in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
Nice to have
- Experience with process transfers.
- Six Sigma methodologies.
