Details:
- Press & Bindery Material Handler
- Pontiac, IL
- Full Time
- 2nd shift 3pm to 11pm, 3rd shift 11pm to 7am
- $15/hour
Responsibilities or job duties:
- Reads work order to determine which materials are to be moved.
- Loads and unloads materials from pallets by hand.
- Moves materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Attaches identification tags or labels to materials or marks information on containers.
- Stacks materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Stacks (using wrist flexing motion) materials into bundles.
- Cleans work area, makes minor repairs, and otherwise assists the machine operators.
- May perform very basic clerical functions.
- Assists with set up of equipment.
- Assist crew in web up of press.
- May lead or train other material handlers.
- Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires good knowledge of general/standard administrative/manufacturing operations procedures and methods to successfully complete the duties of the job
- Must be familiar with applicable skills and procedures required to perform the duties listed in the job. Must have good oral and written communication skills sufficient to provide routine information, answer inquiries and/or refer calls
- Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to solve problems related to duties of the job
- Additional job knowledge, skills, and/or abilities specific to a department may be listed on the staffing requisition
