Zappa Construction is looking for an experienced concrete finisher to serve as a foreman for our concrete division. We are a growing company with considerable experience with both commercial and residential projects. Our company is looking for a professional, self-motivated team player with the leadership skills to run a crew as we continue to grow our business and expand our market. Previous experience working as a cement finisher, superintendant, concrete laborer, concrete foreman may make you a good fit for this role. Come and be a part of our team!
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with all phases of concrete flatwork installation, from tearout to finishing; minimum 5 years finishing experience required
- Experience with decorative concrete (stamped concrete/overlays)
- Leadership experience or evident leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
- Excellent organizational/time management skills
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
- Can read/interpret blueprints and other technical/engineering documents
- Able to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
Responsibilities:
- Assist with setup, pouring, and finishing concrete jobs, including transfer of materials and equipment to/from jobsite(s)
- Oversee/manage a concrete crew of at least 4 workers
- Ensure that workers are maintaining a safe and professional atmosphere on the job
- Helping ensure that jobs are completed on schedule and on budget
- At the end of each working day, ensure that all vehicles and equipment are prepared for next day's work
- See that all required daily paperwork is completed (including but not limited to filling out daily time sheets and any necessary change orders, and also making sure drivers/operators fill out vehicle logs)
