Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with skill and consistency, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations at all times
- Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and communicate supply needs to ensure seamless operations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy hours
- Develop new sushi recipes and presentation styles to keep the menu innovative and exciting
- Train junior staff on sushi preparation techniques, safety protocols, and proper handling of ingredients
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and sanitation in all aspects of sushi preparation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of sushi techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Demonstrated ability to develop new recipes and presentation styles (curriculum development experience is a plus)
- Excellent classroom management skills for training junior staff or conducting culinary workshops
- Experience working with diverse groups including children, adults, or special education settings (working with children or early childhood education background is advantageous)
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices in a professional kitchen
- Passion for culinary arts, creativity in food presentation, and dedication to quality craftsmanship
