Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Nursing Resource Team | Night Shift

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Nursing Resource Team (NRT) in Idaho. This is a unique opportunity for a highly adaptable critical care nurse who enjoys variety, works well in changing environments, and is comfortable providing care across multiple inpatient specialties.
The ideal candidate will have recent ICU experience and be confident caring for high-acuity patients while floating between ICU-level support areas including Progressive Care, Med Surg, and Adult Behavioral Health. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to quickly adapt to different units and patient populations.
Position Highlights:
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Start options beginning 6/29
- Work within a Level III Trauma Center
- Support multiple inpatient units across a 200-bed medical/surgical service line and 26-bed Critical Care Unit
- Utilize EPIC EMR
- Weekly orientation opportunities
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients across multiple inpatient settings
- Float to assigned units based on staffing needs, including:
- Adult Behavioral Health
- PCU/Stepdown
- Med Surg
- ED boarding patients requiring medical/surgical care
- Monitor patients with complex medical conditions, including cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation needs
- Perform comprehensive assessments and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide safe, effective care
- Adapt quickly to different workflows, teams, and patient populations
- Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC
Float Expectations:
- Must be flexible and comfortable floating between departments
- Staffing office will notify nurses approximately 90 minutes before shift regarding assigned location
- Mid-shift floating may be required based on facility needs
- Will not float to ICU or Women’s & Children’s units
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Idaho or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Recent Med Surg and PCU experience strongly preferred
- Level III Trauma Center experience preferred
- Cardiac ICU experience required
- Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation required
- AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS preferred (facility training available)
- Behavioral Health training/classes provided onsite
