Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, inspect finished product as it exits the production line, package and weigh the product, and ensure proper storage and labeling in designated locations.
Essential Job Functions:
SAFETY:

Follow lockout/tagout procedures prior to performing any maintenance or removing safety guards.

Follow all Company safety rules.

Perform daily housekeeping duties.
QUALITY:
-
Inspect finished product for contamination (e.g., oil, grease, dirt), visual defects (e.g., light or uneven areas), or other quality issues.
-
Enter roll weight accurately into the production system or designated software.
-
Accurately measure the width and length of rolls as instructed.
OPERATIONS:
-
Assist with starting rolls and ensure proper alignment and feed.
-
Assist in the guiding of the beginning of the batting through the production line during startup and after any interruptions.
-
Feed the beginning of the batting through the slitting device and windup.
-
Assist in the identification and removal of batting defects.
-
Segregate and weigh waste materials by category (e.g., splice, weight, uniformity, etc.) according to company procedures, and enter the corresponding information into the production system for tracking and reporting purposes.

Remove rolls from the production line.
-
Package finished rolls in plastic or as otherwise required, compress as required.
-
Place the proper roll identification sticker on each roll or package unless otherwise specified.

Remove trim from the rolls and assist in the management of the materials to be recycled or disposed of.

Assist in moving finished rolls to storage area.
MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT:

Check the oven, aprons, and windup for any production problems and report them to the Lead Operator immediately.

Listen and watch the production line for any signs of machine trouble and report them to the Lead Operator immediately.

Assist in preventive and other maintenance as required.
OTHER:

Assist team members as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Abilities, Experience, Background and Education Required:

Must meet physical and performance requirements as outlined in the Job Demands and Task Analysis.

Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, and calculate measurements.

Legible writing.
-
Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
