Benjamin Roberts Law, PLLC is a growing personal injury law firm located in the Greenway/Upper Kirby area of Houston. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with personal injury experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing exceptional support to attorneys, paralegals, and clients throughout the life of a case.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling both pre-litigation and litigation matters and possess strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals throughout the life of a case
- Conduct new client intake and assist with opening and organizing new files
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files
- Draft correspondence, letters of representation, requests for records, and other legal documents
- Request and organize medical records, billing records, police reports, and other case-related documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties regarding case status and document requests
- Schedule client appointments, depositions, mediations, hearings, and other case-related events
- Monitor case deadlines and assist with maintaining attorney calendars
- Assist with preparation of demand packages and other pre-litigation documents
- Provide litigation support, including filing documents, organizing discovery, and assisting with trial preparation as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all client information is handled professionally
- Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in personal injury
- Experience with both pre-litigation and litigation is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Experience with Filevine is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and general office software
