Overview:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and complete credentialing and re-credentialing of healthcare providers across multiple payer networks, including commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. This role involves maintaining excellent documentation, following up persistently with payers, and keeping clients well-informed of progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit complete credentialing and re-credentialing applications for physicians and midlevel providers
- Maintain up-to-date provider data in CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, and other required systems
- Track and follow up on application status with commercial insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid programs
- Communicate clearly and consistently with clients to update on progress and request additional information
- Keep meticulous records of submissions, approvals, and expiration dates in our credentialing tracking systems
- Ensure compliance with payer-specific requirements and documentation standards
- Coordinate with internal team members to support related tasks
- Assist in the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries regarding credentialing status and provide support to providers throughout the process.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards affecting credentialing practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in provider credentialing and payer enrollment
- Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid credentialing processes
- Expertise with CAQH, NPPES, and PECOS
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely with consistent productivity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong follow-up skills and a proactive mindset
Compensation:
- $21–$25 per hour, depending on experience
- Flexible scheduling (full-time preferred)
- Contractor or employee status available
Pay: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour
