GUILD is seeking a part-time Lead Instructor to join our creative team. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dependable, and experienced in working with children in a creative, hands-on environment. The ideal candidate is warm, organized, and confident leading groups of children while also being flexible enough to support a variety of studio activities.
In this role, you will lead art and handcraft classes for children ages 4–12, facilitate creative projects during birthday parties and special events, and assist guests in The Makery, our drop-in creative studio space. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fostering creativity, creating a welcoming environment, and balancing independence with teamwork.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading art and handcraft activities for children ages 5–12
- Teaching and guiding students in after school classes, camps, and workshops
- Leading creative projects during birthday parties and private events
- Assisting customers with hands-on projects in The Makery
- Preparing and organizing materials for classes and activities
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring studio environment
- Supporting studio operations and collaborating with the GUILD team
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and leading instruction in an educational, recreational, or creative setting
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Enthusiastic about art, crafting, and creative learning
- Weekend and afternoon availability is required
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with social media content creation or management
- Sewing skills or experience teaching sewing projects
