1099 Risk Control Consultant – Property (HPR) | Remote/Field-Based, U.S.
National Safety & Risk (NSR) is a national risk engineering firm specializing in Highly Protected Risk (HPR) property inspections and risk control services for insurance carriers and MGAs as well as direct businesses. Our HPR division is growing quickly, and we're building a national network of experienced field consultants to keep pace with demand.
About the Role
This is a field-based 1099 contract position. You'll conduct HPR property surveys at industrial and commercial occupancies and deliver technical risk engineering reports directly to our carrier and MGA clients. You'll work closely with NSR's HPR Director and have consistent access to support, standards, and feedback on your work.
This role is a strong fit for an experienced risk engineer looking for flexible, high-quality contract work with a growing firm and a varied book of occupancies.
What You'll Do
- Conduct HPR property surveys at industrial and commercial facilities
- Perform COPE analysis and evaluate sprinkler systems
- Complete water supply analyses for sprinkler systems, including flow test interpretation and supply vs. demand evaluation
- Develop fire loss estimates (PML/MFL)
- Identify hazards and controls across a range of occupancies, including warehousing and distribution, data centers, metal and plastics manufacturing, and woodworking operations
- Deliver clean, well-documented reports to carrier and MGA clients within agreed turnaround windows
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in HPR or large commercial property risk engineering
- Background in risk engineering or loss control with an insurance carrier, MGA, or risk engineering firm
- Strong working knowledge of COPE analysis and sprinkler system evaluation
- Ability to complete sprinkler water supply analyses, including flow test interpretation and supply vs. demand evaluation
- Ability to develop fire loss estimates (PML/MFL)
- Experience identifying hazards and controls across varied occupancies
- Comfortable working independently and producing detailed, professional reports on schedule
- PE, CSP, CFPS, ASP, RRE, or GSP preferred

Pay: From $75.00 per hour
