LEA Licensed Low Voltage Technician – Portland Metro Area
Location: Portland Metro Area, Oregon (Technicians must live within approximately a 30-minute drive of the Portland Metro Area)

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour (DOE)
About the Position
US COMM Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Oregon LEA Licensed Limited Energy Technician to join our growing team.
We specialize in commercial low-voltage installations, service, and structured cabling throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. We are looking for a dependable, experienced technician who can work independently, manage daily assignments, and complete high-quality installations with minimal supervision.
This is a field-based position. Technicians will be based out of their own home location and travel directly to scheduled job sites each day. You will receive a daily schedule and work orders with assigned locations and will be responsible for completing work safely, efficiently, and professionally.Projects include commercial service calls, new construction, tenant improvements, retrofits, security installations, structured cabling, and infrastructure upgrades.
Night and after-hours work is required for this position.
Compensation
- $35.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on experience
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Company fuel card provided for business-related fuel, parking, and tolls
Required Qualifications
- Current Oregon LEA (Limited Energy A) License REQUIRED
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle capable of transporting a ladder
- Must provide own hand tools and equipment required for LEA low-voltage work
- Ability to work independently and follow assigned schedules
- Ability to read prints, drawings, and job specifications
- Understanding of applicable electrical and low-voltage codes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work days, evenings, and overnight shifts as needed
Technician Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial low-voltage systems, including:
- Voice and data cabling systems
- Category 5e, Category 6, and Category 6A cabling
- Fiber optic cabling
- Coaxial cabling
- Speaker and audio systems
- CCTV and IP security camera systems
- Access control systems
- Telecommunications systems
- Network infrastructure
- Equipment racks, patch panels, and cable management
- Low-voltage devices and equipment
- Testing, certification, labeling, and documentation of completed work
- Troubleshooting and repairing existing low-voltage systems
- New construction and retrofit installations
- Working with general contractors, electricians, and other trades
- Maintaining clean and professional job sites
REQUIRED Technical Skills
- Thorough understanding of Voice and Data cabling
- Run, secure, terminate, and certify Category 6/6A, Fiber Optic, Coaxial, and Speaker cabling
- Secure cabling in accordance with NEC, Oregon electrical code, and applicable industry standards
- Experience terminating Cat6 jacks and patch panels
- Experience with IP and Analog CCTV security systems
- Familiarity with new construction and retrofit projects
- Fish walls and conduits using fish tape or glow rods
- Navigate 66 blocks using a butt set
- Tone and repair existing voice and data drops
- Read blueprints, prints, and markups
- Complete digital work orders, PDFs, and Excel documents using a cellphone
- Provide clear, high-resolution photos and documentation of completed work
- Lift at least 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working from 10' and 12' ladders
- Operate scissor and boom lifts safely
Vehicle & Equipment Requirements
A reliable vehicle and clean driving record are required. A company truck may be provided for certain applicants at the company's discretion.
You will be driving your own vehicle to and from job sites each day. Your vehicle must be capable of transporting a ladder and necessary tools.A company fuel card will be assigned for business purposes only, including:
Technicians are responsible for maintaining their own personal tools and equipment necessary to perform LEA-level low-voltage work.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry at least 50 pounds
- Work from ladders and scissor lifts
- Bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work in ceilings or confined spaces
- Perform physically demanding work throughout the shift

To meet customer site requirements: No face, neck, or hand tattoos permitted.
