MACHINERY RIGGER with CDL-A
Walker Crane & Rigging Corp., located in Plainville, CT and founded in 1883, specializes in licensed and insured crane service, rigging and machinery moving throughout the northeast. We also provide specialized transportation and heavy hauling throughout the United States.
We are looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented, full-time Machinery Rigger to join our team. Our riggers prepare and move loads safely and securely.
As a Machinery Rigger you will move and transport machinery, heavy equipment and materials on and off site. In addition to this, you should also be able to work long and flexible hours in, at times, inclement weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trailers with the use of forklifts and overhead cranes ensuring loads are properly secured and tarped.
- Move equipment, machinery, parts and material.
- Transport machinery and equipment to job sites.
- Inspect heavy equipment and fleet vehicles to ensure they are working properly.
- Perform pre and post driver vehicle inspections and report faults that require repair, replacement or adjustment.
- Inspect, maintain and ensure rigging equipment is in proper working order.
- Prepare and set up rigging equipment.
- Coordinate with other team members when loading and moving equipment, machinery and materials.
- Ensure the safety of team members and others around you.
- Maintain a written record of all daily activities and services performed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Compliance with health and safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CDL Class A.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and physical.
- Clean MVR and no recent DUIs.
- General knowledge of rigging equipment.
- Familiarity with power and hand tools.
- Excellent physical dexterity and spatial awareness.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as a team member and independently.
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays when necessary.
