Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Glazier to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in residential buildings, ensuring safety, quality, and precision in every project. Your expertise will help transform homes by delivering flawless glass solutions that enhance aesthetics and functionality. Duties
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and install glass panels for windows, doors, mirrors, shower enclosures, and other residential fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to perform precise cuts and adjustments.
- Prepare work sites by framing openings with metal studs or wood trim carpentry as needed for glass installation.
- Perform caulking, sealing, and finishing touches to ensure weatherproofing and aesthetic appeal.
- Assist with remodeling projects by hanging doors, installing fixtures, cabinets, or trim carpentry components.
- Lift heavy glass panels safely while adhering to proper handling procedures; support team members during large or awkward installations.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating and blueprint reading to plan projects accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as glass cutters, chisels, screwdrivers, and measuring devices.
- Experience with fabrication and manufacturing processes related to glass products.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and experience working on active construction sites.
- Ability to operate power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and specialized glazing equipment.
- Strong understanding of schematics for fixture installation and metal stud framing techniques.
- Hands-on experience with caulking, remodeling tasks like drywall finishing or painting, and handyman skills.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and the agility needed for precise installation work.
