Qualifications:
- Active Washington Special Education Certification is required
- Experience in life skills or special education settings preferred
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Compassion, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver specialized instruction focused on life skills development
- Adapt lessons to meet the unique abilities and learning styles of each student
- Manage and document student progress, attending meetings and updating IEPs as needed
- Provide a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages positive social and emotional growth
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and school staff to maximize student success
