SUMMARY
Provides analysis and program management for the Department of School Safety. Supervises the School Safety Dispatch group to ensure incoming calls and radio transmissions are responded to according to established procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Data Science, Business or Public Administration, Accounting, or related field.
OR
Proven experience in dispatch operations, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
AND
Three (3) years’ experience using and/or operating two-way radios required, preferably as a Dispatcher, and using law enforcement 10 codes and Uniformed Crime Classification codes. Demonstrated knowledge of the theory, methods, principles, and practices of public administration with reference to governmental program analysis or crime analysis.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Experience with computers required, preferably with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch).
Commitment to be on call 24/7.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Bloodborne Pathogen training offered by TUSD Risk Management Department.

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month
Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.
