Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive Gastroenterology evaluations and follow-up visits.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based clinical practice.
- Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic test results.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with New York State regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Educate patients regarding disease management, preventive care, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical meetings, and continuing education activities.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Minimum of one year of Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner experience.
- Eligible for Medicare and Medicaid enrollment.
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
