The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a defined customer base within the Syracuse and Northern Albany region, supporting industrial and commercial customers with specialty chemistry programs focused on water, wastewater, and process applications. This role combines technical sales, relationship management, and consultative problem‑solving to deliver value‑driven solutions aligned with customer operational and sustainability goals.
As part of a global specialty chemistry manufacturer, this position works closely with technical service, product management, and operations teams to ensure safe, compliant, and effective chemistry programs across diverse customer environments.

Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts while identifying and developing new opportunities within the assigned territory

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, building long‑term, trusted relationships at both plant and corporate levels

Deliver consultative solutions across water treatment, wastewater treatment, and process chemistry applications

Conduct site visits to assess systems, identify improvement opportunities, and support implementation of chemical programs

Collaborate with technical service teams to support troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives

Develop and execute territory plans aligned with revenue growth, retention, and margin objectives

Monitor customer performance, ensure contract compliance, and proactively address service or performance concerns

Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and CRM activity related to accounts and opportunities

Stay current on regulatory trends, sustainability initiatives, and industry best practices impacting customer operations

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, environmental science, or a related technical or business field (or equivalent experience)

2-5+ years of experience in technical sales, account management, or field‑based customer support within water treatment, wastewater, industrial chemistry, or related industries

Strong understanding of industrial water systems, wastewater processes, or applied chemistry solutions

Proven ability to manage a territory independently and build durable customer relationships
