Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking dishes following established recipes and safety standards.
- Support meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage practices.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure all meals are prepared in a hygienic environment.
- Assist with menu planning and recipe adherence to maintain consistency across dishes.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and communicate clearly to ensure timely service during busy hours.
Skills
- Experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry is highly valued.
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Strong food preparation skills, including knife handling and slicing techniques.
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of food safety management and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in meal preparation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within a fast-paced environment.
