The Accounting Clerk will support the Accounting Department in all aspects of membership deposits, cash deposits, invoicing and retail store inventory.
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 32-40 hrs/wk
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares the daily deposit from travel store, branches and membership in a timely and accurate manner.
- Scans checks into banking system for remote deposit with close attention to written out and numeric amounts.

Reconciles petty cash. Prepares change orders weekly and as necessary to ensure available change for travel store.

Maintains strong communication with stores, Staff Accountant and Assistant Controller to ensure resolution of transaction issues.
- Work within our proprietary system to look up member payment information to properly apply credit card payment and investigate discrepancies between payment amounts and balances due on account.

Work with proprietary system to apply account adjustments as needed.

Receive inventory into our POS system. Set up new items as needed.
- Process adjustments and transfers of inventory in our POS system to branches as needed throughout the week.

Prepare Accounts Receivable invoices.

Support Accounts Payable by verifying and entering vendor information.

Assist with mailings and data tracking for escheatment process.

Assist with special projects in the Accounting Department.

Cross-train in some of the duties of other positions to assist as needed during peak times, vacations, and illness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience handling cash
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to count US currency accurately.
- Basic proficiency in Excel

Heavy use of an office computer for completing work.

Will be moving from space to space in warehouse sorting inventory about 20-25% of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
