Job Summary
micro1 is engaging Biology Experts (PhD) to contribute their advanced subject-matter expertise to a high-impact AI training project for a customer. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.
This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity for biology experts who are passionate about applying their scientific knowledge to emerging AI technologies. You will help develop and evaluate high-quality biological content that improves AI reasoning across a broad range of life science disciplines.
No prior AI experience is required. Your scientific expertise and research experience are what matter most.
Scope of Work
- Critically evaluate and provide expert feedback on biology-related data, prompts, and content used in AI training and evaluation.
- Create, review, and refine scientific scenarios, questions, and explanations that reflect complex real-world biological concepts.
- Ensure the technical accuracy, scientific rigor, and relevance of biology-focused AI training datasets and model outputs.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve ambiguities and improve the quality, coverage, and consistency of biological content.
- Document methodologies, scientific reasoning, and supporting rationale to promote transparency and reproducibility.
- Participate in iterative review cycles to continuously improve AI performance across biological domains.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing and collaboration with interdisciplinary experts throughout the project.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Biology or a closely related life sciences discipline.
- Strong expertise across one or more biological fields, such as molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, ecology, evolutionary biology, physiology, immunology, biochemistry, or developmental biology.
- Experience conducting scientific research, analyzing biological data, and critically evaluating scientific literature.
- Experience authoring, reviewing, or publishing scientific, technical, or educational biology content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to scientific accuracy and detail.
- Experience with AI, data annotation, benchmarking, or scientific content development is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a remote, distributed team environment.
