Overview
A manufacturing company in the Kansas City area, currently experiencing significant growth, is seeking a Controller to join its team. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting practices, compliance with industry standards, and effective financial planning. This crucial role supports the company's strategic growth by providing comprehensive financial oversight, managing budgets, and facilitating project cost control.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Gather and consolidate financial data to accurately report consolidated business results.
- Collaborate closely with plant operations to complete the monthly forecast and annual budget process.
- Prepare internal financial statements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Manage the trial balance and complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Lead the accounting team, including hiring, developing, and retaining staff.
Skills
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a hands-on Controller.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus.
- CPA certification is a strong advantage.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
