Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits effectively
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments
- Upsell additional products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current inventory
- Assist with stocking, inventory management, and store cleanliness to create an inviting shopping environment
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Support supervisory staff with training new team members and supervising daily store operations when needed
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred, especially in grocery or specialty stores
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer needs
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and retail math concepts such as basic calculations for pricing or discounts
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail sales environments will help you succeed
