Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrician - Commercial Journeyman to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across commercial projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Your expertise will help power our clients' facilities efficiently and reliably, contributing to high-quality construction and renovation projects. Responsibilities
- Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other tradespeople during renovation or new construction projects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including drawing updates and inspection reports.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial settings; warehouses, offices, medical, restaurants, retail, apartments, hotels, and manufacturing.
- Must possess ability to hand bend conduit up to 1-1/4" EMT and 1" RIGID with consistent outcomes utilizing proper technique and formulas.
- Install distribution equipment including, SES, Distribution Boards, Panels, Duct Banks, Disconnects, Breakers, Grounding and Lightning systems.
- Install devices as required (switches, receptacles, lighting controls)
- Utilizing a clear understanding of basic code for commercial settings including box fill, conduit fill, derating, wire and conduit sizing, continuous vs non-continuous loads, ADA device heights, trench depth requirements and working clearances
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement solutions to clear all faults
- Ability to operate machinery on site as required for complete install of electrical system; lifts, wire tugger/feeder, threader, table bender, triple nickel, excavator.
- Understanding and interpreting blueprints, elevations, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications and project manuals to complete install to code and project compliance
- Ability to work at a fast paced to maintain expected production levels while retaining the required level of PPE and safety at all time.
- Work within a team setting or independently as assigned by site lead or as required.
- Provide daily and weekly activity logs, as required.
- Manage and maintain company equipment and materials daily
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a valid journeyman license or certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrician practices and experience working on construction sites.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical system design.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage systems, high voltage wiring, and NEC standards compliance.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot electrical issues swiftly using appropriate testing equipment like ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of renovation processes including framing carpentry and general construction site safety practices.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician or lead/foreman position in commercial and industrial (tenant improvements, warehouses, ground up, etc.)
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for electrical work
- Ability to follow instructions, utilize phone and computer proficiently to communicate and manage assigned workflow.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams including, but not limited to, kitchen equipment, ansuls, lighting relay panels, HVAC equipment.
- Personal transportation to and from job sites as assigned throughout the greater phoenix region including Mesa, Queen Creek and Florence.
- Clean driving record, criminal record and OSHA certifications.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
