About the Position
We are seeking a Dining Room Supervisor to help lead our dining team and ensure every resident and guest receives an exceptional dining experience. This role is responsible for the daily coordination and supervision of dining room operations, with a strong focus on hospitality, service, cleanliness, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, service-oriented leader who enjoys working directly with residents and staff, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering a consistently high standard of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dining room operations, including staffing, floor plans, and setup based on anticipated guest counts, reservations, and resident needs.
- Manage the dining reservation system, including taking reservations, maintaining schedules, and ensuring accurate reservation records.
- Warmly greet and seat residents and guests while creating a welcoming and hospitable dining experience.
- Supervise, support, and coach dining room team members to ensure attentive, efficient, and professional service.
- Maintain a visible presence on the dining room floor during peak meal periods and assist with service as needed, including taking orders and serving beverages.
- Partner with the Food & Beverage Manager to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate dining room team members.
- Serve as a key liaison between the dining room and kitchen teams to promote effective communication and smooth meal service.
- Lead daily pre-meal meetings to communicate resident needs, operational updates, policy changes, and service expectations.
- Ensure all side work, cleaning, and closing responsibilities are completed according to established standards and schedules.
- Maintain high standards for the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and organization of dining rooms, equipment, fixtures, and storage areas.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns and equipment deficiencies promptly.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of dining room supplies, including silverware, coffee service items, water pitchers, linens, and other essential supplies.
- Communicate supply and ordering needs to the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Supervise the meal ordering system and help ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout meal service.
- Maintain dining areas, equipment, and supplies based on seasonal needs and resident preferences.
- Develop floor plans and coordinate dining room setups for special events and larger gatherings.
- Support a positive team culture centered on hospitality, respect, teamwork, and excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the community and dining program.
