Photo-Sonics, Inc. is an international leader in state-of-the art optical tracking systems in Chatsworth and has an immediate opening for a Senior Technical Buyer. We’re seeking a multi-disciplinary candidate who is self-motivated and is able to set and meet goals.
The Senior Technical Buyer will support to the Purchasing Department procuring custom and commercial-off-the-shelf materials and parts for development and production of technically complex optical tracking systems.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Issuing a request for quotation
· Place Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company’s policies, procedures, and government regulations
· Prepares and issues PO on complex or specialized parts to support production schedules and departmental requirements
· Negotiate cost savings
· Collaboratively negotiate and engage with suppliers regarding new projects, site visits, supplies and initiatives
· Monitor and advise of supplier changes that impact purchasing and production activities
· Execute non-disclosure agreements
· Submit sole/single source justifications
· Obtain signed Anti-Lobbying Certificates
· Obtain signed debarment certificates prior to order placement
· Ensure compliance to customer contracts, including U.S. government contracts, ensuring complete flow-down of customer contractual requirements, as well as complying with AS9100 policies and procedures and Purchase Order processes
· Issue DO/DX rated orders on PO agreements
· Plan and prepare for Contractor’s Purchasing System Review (CPSR) audit
· Collaborate with engineering and production control to ensure quality parts and materials are purchased
· Other duties as assigned by management
Experience and Requirements:
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Technical (i.e. Engineering) degree preferred
Skills:
· At least 5 years’ experience as a technical buyer in a complex product manufacturing such as aerospace and weapon systems manufacturing
· Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills are needed, while working with suppliers
· Ideal candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision
· Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Must be proficient in Micro Soft Word and Excel
· Ability to work in a team environment
Experience:
· Experience in reading and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications
· Experience working with procurement practices that comply with federal contract and uniform commercial code.
· Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation System (DFARS) is a plus
· Experience with activities related to the strategic sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the product demand.
· Experience with price and cost analysis
· Experience with commercial item determinations
· Experience developing Requests for Quote (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for parts and sub-systems.
· Experience with negotiating POs and subcontract awards
· Experience conducting market research
Physical requirements:
· Position requires ability to lift (15 lbs.), stand, walk for long periods of time.
· Position may require some climbing.

Pay: $38.00 - $50.00 per hour
