Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and trustworthy Family Caretaker to assist with the daily care of our elderly parents while maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment. This position combines light personal caregiving, housekeeping, and light cooking/meal preparation to help support our family members' independence and quality of life.
The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, organized, and enjoys working with seniors. This role requires professionalism, respect for privacy, and the ability to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities
Personal Care
- Assist elderly male with showering and personal hygiene when there is limited mobility.
- Assist in getting them to their medical appointments.
- Observe and report any changes in health, mobility, or general well-being to the family.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
Housekeeping
- Perform thorough cleaning of the home, including:
- Bedrooms
- Bathrooms
- Kitchen
- Living areas
- Hallways and other designated rooms
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
- Clean and sanitize countertops, fixtures, appliances, and high-touch surfaces.
- Clean bathrooms and kitchen to maintain proper hygiene.
- Organize and tidy living spaces.
- Wash interior and exterior windows and clean window screens on a monthly basis.
- Restock household supplies as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and use proper cleaning techniques to prevent accidents or damage
- All cleaning supplies will be provided.
Laundry
- Wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry (household washer and dryer located on the premises).
- Wash and change bed linens as needed.
Meal Preparation
- Prepare light lunches and simple meals according to dietary preferences or restrictions (ingredients will be provided).
- Clean the kitchen and dishes following meal preparation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving, home health, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful when working with elderly individuals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and assist with light mobility support.
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
- Strong communication skills.
Requirements
- Must have reliable personal transportation.
- Valid driver's license.
- Police Clearance (background check) is required prior to employment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working in a private residence.

Work Environment
This position is located in a private family residence. The successful candidate will become an important part of supporting our elderly parents in maintaining their dignity, independence, and quality of life while ensuring the home remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
We are looking for someone who treats our family members with kindness, patience, and respect while taking pride in creating a safe and comfortable home.
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
