We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and patient Direct Care Staff (Caregiver) to provide one-on-one support for a 36-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy in Romulus, Michigan.
The client is nonverbal but fully understands communication, follows directions, and is ambulatory. Our goal is to help him live as independently as possible while providing the support he needs with daily living activities and community involvement.

Job Responsibilities
As a Direct Care Staff member, you will:
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide toileting and bathroom assistance
- Assist with dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Administer medications as prescribed
- Prepare and cook healthy meals
- Make the client’s bed and keep personal living areas tidy
- Perform laundry and light housekeeping related to the client’s care
- Transport the client safely to:
- Medical appointments
- Community outings
- Recreational activities
- Shopping and errands
- Encourage independence while providing supervision and support
- Communicate respectfully with a nonverbal client who understands spoken communication
- Ensure the client’s health, safety, dignity, and well-being at all times
- Follow all CLS policies, Recipient Rights, and safety procedures
- Complete required documentation as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of automobile insurance
- First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Recipient Rights Training (or willingness to complete)
- Medication administration experience is a plus (training available)
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
Required Training
All applicants will complete the hiring process through Personal Accounting Services (PAS) on behalf of Community Living Services (CLS).
Before beginning employment, you will be provided and required to complete:
- Online training at
- In-person Recipient Rights Training
- First Aid Training
- CPR Certification
Training certificates must be submitted to PAS before employment can begin.
