We are currently seeking a Resource and Financial Assistance Specialist to join our Project DVORA & Financial Assistance Services team. Within a trauma-informed, culturally competent framework, this position is responsible for responding to agency-wide requests for internal and external resources and information and helping to provide financial assistance to vulnerable members of the community and survivors of domestic violence, including client follow-up tracking. This is a one-year position, with the possibility the role will continue in future years.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to telephone, voice mail, and email requests for information and provide information and resources as needed.
- Working with financial resource specialists and domestic violence advocates, provide financial assistance by contacting potential clients by email or telephone to initiate the application process; collecting and reviewing application documents from applicants to determine eligibility; and processing check requests for eligible applicants.
- Establish and update client case files in the Salesforce database.
- Provide follow-up check-ins to determine the outcome of rent assistance and help prepare an annual report on client housing stability.
- Participate in team meetings and projects.
- Participate in regular coordination and consultation meetings with other JFS staff that respond to community requests.
- Participate in agency meetings and projects as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of direct service experience in a social service setting with diverse populations OR an equivalent combination of life experience and four years related social service experience.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access those resources.
- Client-facing experience with a trauma informed approach and understanding of impact of trauma.
- Sensitivity and understanding of challenges specifically impacting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault; experience/training (or willingness to be trained) in domestic violence, anti-oppression work, or intergenerational trauma.
- Strong self-management, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed attention to detail.
- Jewish cultural competency or willingness to develop or enhance understanding of Jewish culture and clients.
- Interacts well with and develops rapport with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds and those experiencing behavioral health challenges.
- Ability to de‐escalate and resolve conflict in a variety of interpersonal situations.
- Experience with databases; experience with Salesforce a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The pay for this position is $29.69 – 36.29 an hour.
