Position Summary
Summit Hills Country Club is seeking an experienced, professional, and service-focused Food & Beverage Manager to oversee the daily front-of-house operations of the Club's dining and beverage outlets.
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for creating an exceptional experience for members and their guests through attentive hospitality, consistent service standards, effective staff leadership, and strong operational execution. This position provides hands-on leadership throughout daily dining operations, special events, tournaments, and other Club functions.
Working closely with the Food & Beverage Director, Executive Chef, and Club leadership, the Food & Beverage Manager will help ensure that Summit Hills consistently delivers the level of service, professionalism, and hospitality expected in a private club environment.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Member Experience
- Oversee daily dining room, bar, and front-of-house operations.
- Maintain a highly visible presence on the floor and provide hands-on leadership during peak service periods and Club events.
- Ensure consistent execution of Club service standards and hospitality expectations.
- Monitor service flow, table assignments, reservations, floor plans, and guest needs.
- Build positive relationships with members and their guests and respond promptly and professionally to questions, requests, and concerns.
- Anticipate member needs and identify opportunities to enhance the overall dining experience.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate service staff.
- Establish clear expectations for appearance, professionalism, service standards, and teamwork.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings, service training, and ongoing coaching.
- Develop employees through constructive feedback, recognition, and accountability.
- Manage staffing levels and schedules to support business volume while maintaining appropriate service standards.
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Food & Beverage Operations
- Coordinate closely with the Food & Beverage Director and Executive Chef to ensure smooth communication between front- and back-of-house teams.
- Oversee beverage service, including inventory control, product presentation, and responsible alcohol service.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, service timing, and overall member satisfaction.
- Assist with menu rollouts, seasonal offerings, promotions, and programs designed to enhance the member experience and drive revenue.
- Maintain accurate POS procedures, including opening, closing, cash handling, reporting, and transaction controls.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor labor, beverage inventory, operating expenses, and revenue in accordance with Club expectations.
- Assist with inventory counts, ordering, receiving, storage, and product controls.
- Review operating reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Help control waste, breakage, comps, discounts, and other controllable expenses.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure established Club procedures are consistently followed.
Events & Club Activities
- Assist in planning and executing member events, private functions, golf tournaments, banquets, and other Club activities.
- Coordinate staffing, room setups, service timelines, and operational details for special events.
- Work with the Golf, Events, Culinary, and other Club departments to ensure seamless execution.
- Provide strong floor leadership during high-volume events and peak Club activity.
Standards, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and appearance throughout all front-of-house areas.
- Ensure employees follow Club policies, safety procedures, and applicable food and beverage regulations.
- Promote responsible alcohol service and ensure compliance with applicable laws and Club policies.
- Address operational issues promptly and communicate significant concerns to the Food & Beverage Director.

- Previous supervisory or management experience in a country club, private club, restaurant, hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with scheduling, staff training, POS systems, inventory, and basic financial controls.
- The ability to work collaboratively with culinary leadership and other Club departments.
- A professional appearance and demeanor consistent with a private club environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events as Club operations require.
