Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of a growing transportation brokerage. This is an in-office position responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls while managing a remote overseas team handling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage workflows across time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Supervise and manage a remote overseas team responsible for AR and AP functions
- Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
- Monitor cash flow, forecasting, and working capital
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
- Coordinate with external CPA, tax advisors, and auditors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Analyze financial performance, margins, and operational costs
- Support leadership with financial insights and decision-making
- Implement and optimize accounting systems and workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing AR/AP teams (remote or offshore preferred)
- Ability to manage international/overseas staff and workflows
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Experience with freight brokerage systems or TMS platforms
- Experience working with international teams

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
