- Schedule and coordinate outbound lumber shipments.
- Review orders and shipping reports daily to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Communicate with Gorman Group Sales, Wood Flow, and Production teams to prioritize shipments and meet customer requirements.
- Notify customers and internal stakeholders when orders are ready to ship.
- Coordinate truck pickups and verify shipping documentation.
- Manage domestic, export, and cross-border shipments.
- Collaborate with teams throughout the Gorman Group to balance inventory, production schedules, transportation capacity, and customer needs.
- Support communication between Oroville operations and other Gorman facilities and departments.
- Help ensure efficient movement of products throughout the supply chain.
- Coordinate railcar scheduling, loading, tracking, and releases.
- Work with production and sales teams to ensure rail shipments are prepared and dispatched on schedule.
- Monitor railcar utilization and assist in minimizing demurrage costs.
- Prepare and maintain customs and border documentation.
- Coordinate export paperwork and permit requirements.
- Work with Gorman Group Sales to ensure shipment compliance and bond requirements.
- Maintain shipping records and reports.
- Complete weekly shipping reporting and month-end reconciliations.
- Support Accounts Receivable by providing shipping documentation for customer billing.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
- Welcome visitors, contractors, and truck drivers.
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries professionally.
- Assist with front office responsibilities and support other administrative functions as needed.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and business software applications.
- Strong customer service mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, inventory control, or office administration is preferred.
