The
Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP), Building Division, Electrical Code Branch is seeking a registered professional
Electrical Engineer to review complex and major building electrical projects. In this role, you will ensure electrical plans comply with the National Electric Code and applicable regulations. You will also evaluate new or alternate materials and devices for safety and suitability in buildings and structures.
What You Will Do-
Review and approve electrical plans, specifications, and calculations for major buildings and structures

Work with architects, engineers, and the public to ensure electrical designs meet code and answers questions about design

Coordinate with electrical inspectors to ensure field installations match approved plans and code requirements

Explain electrical engineering decisions in writing and recommend updates to the electrical code as needed
