Restaurant General Manager Job Summary

ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and develop team members
- Coach, mentor, and hold managers and staff accountable
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on communication and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- Address employee relations and disciplinary matters professionally and consistently
- Lead daily manager meetings and shift communication
Operations
- Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations
- Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly
- Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality
- Monitor ticket times and overall operational flow
- Ensure proper staffing levels through effective scheduling
- Maintain restaurant appearance and equipment
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and vendor services as needed
Financial Management
- Drive sales and profitability
- Manage labor costs, food costs, and controllable expenses
- Review financial reports and identify opportunities for improvement
- Manage cash handling, deposits, and daily financial procedures
- Oversee inventory levels and purchasing of food, beverage, and operating supplies
- Minimize waste while maintaining quality standards
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health regulations
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Lead restaurant readiness for health inspections
- Ensure all employees follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete scheduling, payroll approvals, inventory, and operational reporting
- Utilize restaurant management software and POS systems
- Monitor discounts, voids, and cash controls
- Analyze operational metrics to improve performance
- Implement company policies, procedures, and operational standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
- Previous General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop successful teams
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor, food cost, inventory, and profit and loss statements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience with scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with POS systems and restaurant management software
- Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States

Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
