Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing and industrial automation organization, is seeking a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Controls Engineering team supporting plant automation, equipment integration, and control systems initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent troubleshooting skills, and effective communication skills, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Senior Controls & Automation Engineer (PLC/HMI/Servo Systems)
Location: Warren, MI
Pay Range: $47.02 - $53.74/hour
- Design electrical wiring diagrams, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic piping diagrams for manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and support PLC and HMI software for automated production systems.
- Design and implement electrical control panels and machine control solutions.
- Perform startup, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting of control systems.
- Provide technical support for equipment installation, plant personnel training, and travel to manufacturing sites as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5–7 years of experience in Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, machine controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Experience with servo drive hardware/software, HMI development, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and support manufacturing operations in a plant environment.
