QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Considerable experience in the installation, repair and maintenance and testing of a variety of high tech equipment, including PA systems, clocks, televisions, smartboards and interactive boards;

Experience troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of electronic equipment;

Ability to detect by inspection defects in equipment or systems and make proper adjustments and repairs;

Ability to plan and supervise the work of others and carry a job through to completion;

Ability to work from written and oral instructions;

Ability to estimate time and materials needed; and
-
Ability to plan and implement effective work standards.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate supplemented by completion of a recognized apprenticeship or trade school and at least six (6) years of experience in the electronics field. Preferred experience in the Electronics Technician I and II positions.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of Prince George's County Journeyman Electrician License (CB-402000 DR-2) required; Master Electrician License preferred.
Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator's License with driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the work of crews composed of Electronics Technicians I and II and Trades Helpers.

While performing duties of this job, the employee must have the strength and dexterity to perform all required tasks including the ability to climb a 40' vertical ladder, work from scaffolding and a bucket truck, the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 80 lbs., work in cramped interior spaces, and the ability to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, crawling and kneeling in the course of completing daily work assignments. The employee is required to maintain sustained physical effort and some exposure to dust, dirt, chemical solutions, solvents, odors, and adverse weather conditions.
