Position Summary
The Residential / Light Commercial Sales Technician is responsible for inspecting plumbing systems, diagnosing customer needs, and recommending the best repair or replacement solutions. This role combines technical expertise with customer service and sales, helping homeowners and light commercial customers make informed decisions regarding their plumbing systems.
This position requires a current Backflow Certification and the ability to perform backflow testing, repairs, and installations while identifying additional plumbing opportunities that benefit the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose residential and light commercial plumbing issues accurately.
- Perform backflow prevention device testing, inspections, repairs, installations, and certifications.
- Present repair and replacement options with clear pricing and professional recommendations.
- Build trust with customers through education and solution-based selling.
- Generate estimates for plumbing repairs, water heaters, water treatment systems, repipes, sewer repairs, fixtures, and other plumbing services.
- Meet or exceed established sales and revenue goals while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Complete detailed service reports, estimates, and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with local plumbing codes and backflow regulations.
- Coordinate with dispatch, management, and installation teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional condition.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings.
Qualifications:
Required
- Current Arizona Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification.
- 5+ years of residential plumbing experience.
- ServiceTitan experience.
- Experience with light commercial plumbing service.
- Strong plumbing troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prepare estimates and explain repair options confidently.
- Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and service software.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
