Jica Interiors is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Mover/Packer to support the day-to-day flow of our staging operations while upholding the Jica Interiors design vision and standards.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work and has an eye for organization and care when handling furniture and decor in a fast paced environment.
- Prepare furniture, artwork, décor, and accessories for upcoming staging installations and project needs.
- Assist with the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of furnishings and décor for staging installations and move-outs.
- Place and arranging furniture, artwork, and accessories according to staging plans and design direction.
- Handle inventory with care to ensure the protection of client property and company assets.
- Assist with the breakdown and removal of staged spaces, ensuring all items are accounted for and returned safely.
- Return inventory to designated warehouse locations and maintain accurate organization of furnishings, décor, and accessories.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse environment, including routine housekeeping and inventory organization.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently while upholding company standards for presentation, safety, and professionalism.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Safely lift, carry, and transport furniture, boxes, and household items weighing up to 75 lbs independently, and collaborate with team members to move heavier items.
- Remain active throughout 8–10 hour shifts, with frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and stair climbing.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while navigating doorways, hallways, staircases, and other confined or multi-level spaces.
- Maintain a consistent work pace in a variety of environments, including residential homes, outdoor areas, and spaces undergoing relocation or transition.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe lifting practices, teamwork, and protecting both coworkers and clients’ belongings while performing physically demanding tasks.
COMPENSATION:
- $19-$27 per hour (up to $27 with experience driving 16' box truck)
- Independent contractor (1099) status
- The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Guaranteed 15 hours per week. Up to 40 during busy periods.
- 2-4 days per week. Mon - Fri only, 7am - 7pm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable with physical work (lifting, moving furniture, being on your feet)
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently on a daily basis
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication
- Must have reliable transportation to our Slabtown warehouse
- Must have a reliable phone
- Proven ability to maintain consistent, reliable communication with team members, supporting efficient and organized job-site operations.
- 1-2 years moving experience
- English/Spanish bilingual preferred
