What You'll Do
-
Implement the school's curriculum
- Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, and healthy learning environment
-
Supervise daily activities in the classroom
-
Supports different classrooms, roles and age groups
-
Observes and assesses children's development
-
Establishes positive and productive relationships with families
-
Creates lesson plans
-
Follows the classroom's routine
-
Conducts parent/teacher conferences twice a year
-
Sets developmentally appropriate expectations for children and use positive reinforcement techniques for child behaviors using Conscious Discipline techniques

Lifts children and/or equipment
-
Bends, sits on the floor, and stands for extended periods of time
-
Consistently exhibits a warm, supportive attitude towards children
-
Adapts to changes within the program
-
Performs other duties as required

Contributes to a positive work environment

Requirements
-
Has a positive attitude and reliable work ethic
-
Able to consistently work on a set schedule from Monday – Friday, 8 hours plus 1 lunch hour, all year-round

Able to pass a background check
-
Has a passion for working with children!

Communication skills
-
Able to meet or exceed the qualifications for an Early Childhood Teacher
-
CPR/AED First Aid certified within the first 3 months
-
Able to develop and implement the school's curriculum to foster the love of learning
-
Has the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.

Positive role model
-
At least 18 years old
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Registry of Wisconsin certificate or ability to become lead teacher certified is required (we provide all materials to reach lead teacher certification).
-
15 hours of training in infant and toddler care for teachers assigned to this age group. Must be completed within 6 months after assuming the position.
