Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our tax accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, along with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports. This role is mostly for the purposes of helping our clients maintain their books and for the accuracy of tax return preparation.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist in bookkeeping services for clients in QuickBooks, Xero and other accounting software platforms.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts when needed to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Interpret financial reports for management, providing insights into business performance.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information for reporting purposes.
- Prepare various types of business and personal income tax returns.
- Prepare Indiana Tangible Business Personal Property Tax Returns.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tax Accountant or similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar tools important.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with payroll processing is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax rules and laws and strong research skills are needed.
- Knowledge of wills, trusts, estates is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
