Position Overview
HWM is seeking a Bankruptcy/Foreclosure Attorney to represent secured and unsecured creditors in consumer and commercial bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will manage a high-volume bankruptcy and/or foreclosure caseload, provide strategic guidance to lender and creditor clients, and appear in court proceedings.
The attorney candidate should be able to:
- Represent secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases.
- Represent lenders in regard to real property foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy and general property laws.
- Prepare and review pleadings including proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, objections to confirmation, objections to discharge/dischargeability, and related litigation matters.
- Appear at court hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Analyze loan documents, collateral issues, and creditor rights.
- Monitor and apply changes in statutes, rules, and case law.
- Communicate effectively with clients, trustees, and opposing counsel.
- Provide legal guidance and strategic recommendations to creditor clients.
