Position Summary
The RN provides direct nursing care to residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing long-term care facilities. The RN ensures the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained while supporting a compassionate, customer service–focused environment.
The RN practices under the supervision of the RN, physician, or other authorized healthcare professional in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and AHCA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report findings appropriately
- Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation in PointClickCare (PCC)
- Perform wound care, treatments, skin integrity monitoring, and basic foot care within RN scope of practice
- Obtain and record vital signs, weights, blood sugars, intake/output, and other clinical observations
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and monitor completion of assigned duties
- Participate in care planning and resident-centered interventions
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition
- Ensure infection control practices and safety procedures are followed
- Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
- Support customer service initiatives and promote a positive resident experience
- Follow all Melbourne Terrace policies and procedures, including AHCA and CMS requirements
Qualifications
- Current Florida RN license in good standing
- Current CPR certification required
- Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Background Screening Requirement

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and/or transfer residents with assistance and proper equipment
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed
