Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Drafter to join our growing team in Youngsville. This role supports our engineering and fabrication operations by producing accurate technical drawings and documentation across a range of project types. The ideal candidate is proficient in SolidWorks, takes ownership of their work, and can manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical drawings including equipment fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and custom equipment design documentation
- Produce and maintain as-built and record drawings throughout project lifecycles
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication crews to translate design intent into accurate technical drawings
- Revise drawings based on field markups, engineering changes, or client feedback
- Organize and maintain drawing files and document control logs
- Support multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines
- Ensure all drawings comply with applicable standards and internal quality requirements
Qualifications
Required:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, assemblies, and drawing packages)
- 3–5 years of drafting experience in a mechanical, industrial, or equipment fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and field markups
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy
- Effective communication and the ability to work within a team environment
Preferred:
- Experience in oil & gas, environmental services, or industrial fabrication industries
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field
- Experience with document control or drawing management systems
- Prior experience in Oracle NetSuite a plus
