Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, spirits, wine, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options with precision and flair.
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences, recommend drinks, and enhance their overall experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Process cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; handle cashing out customers efficiently.
- Develop new beverage recipes and refine existing ones to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Manage bar inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing waste through effective stock rotation.
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to coordinate service during busy periods, including banquet or catering events if applicable.
- Uphold all health regulations related to food safety, alcohol service laws, and responsible beverage service practices.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by creating a welcoming atmosphere for diverse clientele.
- Assist in bar management tasks when needed, including training new staff or overseeing daily operations.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a bartender in a fast-paced environment; fine dining experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, wine varieties, spirits, and craft beer brewing processes.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS for processing transactions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
- Previous food service or restaurant experience that emphasizes customer engagement and teamwork.
- Experience in beverage recipe development or creating signature drinks is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures within the hospitality industry.
- Ability to manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy using retail math skills.
- Experience working at events such as banquets or catering services is advantageous.
