Cultivation Agent
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to the Cultivation Manager
Cultivation Agents will work as part of a team to help maintain a full-cycle indoor Cannabis Production Facility. Cultivation Agents will assist the cultivation management team in daily tasks associated with the maintenance and production of growing, harvesting, and processing cannabis through the cultivation process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment. The schedule for this role will be Saturday through Wednesday, with full-time hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
DUTIES
- Assist with daily cultivation maintenance including but not limited to: Environmental monitoring, irrigation, nutrition management, integrative pest management, pruning, topping, cloning, transplanting, defoliating, water management, waste management, inventory management, and some post-harvest duties.
- Assist with the propagation and movement of plant material: cloning, seed germination, transplanting, transport, monitoring propagation environmental conditions
- Assist with cleaning and janitorial duties on the cultivation floor
- Comply with CCC and industry standards set forth by the state of Massachusetts
- Continue to develop an extensive knowledge base of successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
- Implement our existing, robust cultivation SOPs, and nutrient regiments.
- Operate heavy and light horticultural equipment and machinery.
- Safe handling, application, inventory and storage of flammable and/or corrosive chemicals
- Track environmental factors and record data to provide to Managers and Head Growers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform water, media, and solution sampling and testing procedures.
- Aid in oversight of the completion of operations in timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software and maintenance logs
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and employees.

- Contribute and improve upon already-existing operations and processes to improve work-flow, efficiency, and provide constructive feedback and recommendations.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- At-least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a Federal background check
- Work references (3)
- Background in horticulture, agriculture, commercial gardening, and/or plant sciences preferred
- General Knowledge of Cannabis
- Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks
- High attention to detail
- Positive, team-centered attitude
- Effective communication skills
- Punctual, reliable, trustworthy
- Schedule for this position will be Thursday-Monday 8am-4:30pm, full 40 hours
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Squatting and bending for extended periods of time
- Ability to work with scissors and/or sharp/oblong gardening tools safely
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder
- Ability to bend and lift without assistance
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Repetitive use of hands for all functions
- Ability to wear a respirator and/or n95 mask for long periods of time
ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
Harvesting
- Support Staff is responsible for assisting management in harvesting batches on assigned harvest days.
- This includes, but is not limited to: chopping down plants, removing fan leaves and stalk, weighing and recording plant and waste weights, transporting plants to Trim Rooms, keeping plants organized by strain, license and batch ID.
Facility Cleaning/Maintenance
- Support Staff assist management in keeping the facility cleaned and maintained.
- This includes, but is not limited to: zone recovery, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, etc.
Other
- Regular and punctual attendance is expected and is considered an essential function necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB TYPE/COMPENSATION
- The schedule for this role will be Saturday through Wednesday, with full-time hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Starting pay is $18.00
