Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Lead engaging youth group activities, including games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational projects
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Facilitate age-appropriate learning activities that support childhood development and academic growth
- Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary, following established protocols to ensure safety
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and team members to support each child's individual needs and progress
- Maintain a clean, organized activity space and adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges through tailored approaches and compassionate guidance
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive environment
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification (or willingness to obtain), AED operation experience preferred
- Background in special education or childhood development is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to supervise children outdoors and indoors safely during various activities
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Previous experience in tutoring, theater arts, babysitting, or youth group facilitation is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours during after-school periods; outdoor work experience is advantageous
