Job Overview
Effex is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a manufacturing client. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in troubleshooting complex systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM), including lubrication, calibration, and alignment
- Troubleshoot issues using tools such as PLCs, thermal imaging, and circuit testing equipment
- Disassemble and rebuild machinery (gearboxes, pumps, motors, valves)
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Use precision tools (micrometers, calipers, alignment tools) to ensure specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and OEM manuals
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with supervisors and production teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of industrial equipment and maintenance practices
- Experience with EDS equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
