Location: Located near Richmond, VA
Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 annually
Setting: Residential Behavioral Health Facility
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Dual Clinician to join our multidisciplinary clinical team at a residential behavioral health and substance use treatment facility. This role serves as a primary therapist for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, providing individual, family, and group therapy while collaborating closely with medical providers, case management, and the treatment team to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care.
- Serve as the primary therapist for an assigned caseload of clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Facilitate psychoeducational, process, relapse prevention, and life skills groups.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate client care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and provide clinical recommendations.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record.
- Complete treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and aftercare planning within required timeframes.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain communication with approved family members and referral sources to support continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current unrestricted Virginia license (or license eligible) as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or other qualified behavioral health professional.
- Experience providing therapy to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and documentation skills.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete background screening and drug testing.
- Experience working in residential behavioral health or substance use treatment.
- Experience treating trauma, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and behavioral health documentation requirements.
- Experience facilitating psychoeducational and process groups.
