American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a Sleep Diagnostic Center position in Elizabethtown, KY, working Monday–Friday days with no weekends or holidays.

Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, no weekends and no holidays

Full-time schedule at 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day

Performs a wide range of respiratory therapy services including invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, medicated and non-medicated therapies, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, oximetry monitoring, pulmonary function testing, and medical gas administration

Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required

Valid Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care certification or Indiana Professional Licensing Agency respiratory license required — license required if applicable

Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

NRP required for candidates working with neonatal populations

Responsibilities include critical and emergent care such as responding to code blue and rapid response events, airway management, and ventilator management

General care duties include administering medicated and non-medicated therapies, oxygen therapy, patient assessment, and patient and family education

Diagnostic responsibilities include pulmonary function testing, neurodiagnostic studies (e.g., EEG), cardiac testing (e.g., 12-lead EKG, Holter monitoring), and blood gas analysis

Assists with advanced specialty procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy

Documents patient assessments, therapies, and clinical information in the medical record

Participates in quality improvement projects, departmental meetings, and ongoing facility processes

Responsible for cleaning, preparing, and maintaining respiratory equipment and ensuring proper functioning of departmental analyzers
