Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activities Director to lead and coordinate meaningful activity programs for residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility. The Activities Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive activities program that promotes residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being in accordance with federal, state of Florida, and facility regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activity program that meets the interests and needs of residents
- Complete activity assessments and care plans in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Coordinate group and individual activities, including social, recreational, educational, and spiritual programs
- Plan and manage community outings and special events
- Supervise and support activity staff and volunteers
- Maintain required documentation in accordance with CMS and Florida state guidelines
- Manage department budget, supplies, and calendars
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure resident-centered care
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Certified Activity Director (ADC) or eligible for certification preferred
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
- Knowledge of Florida long-term care regulations and documentation requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
